At SGBuySell.com, the safety and trust of our community is our top priority. To ensure the authenticity of sellers and prevent fraudulent activity, we require certain vendors to undergo police verification as part of our Vendor Trust & Safety Program.

1. Who Needs Police Verification?

Police verification is mandatory for vendors engaging in the following:

  • High-value item listings (e.g. luxury goods, vehicles, real estate).

  • Services involving home visits or personal interaction (e.g. repair services, rentals, movers).

  • Business users or companies posting more than [X] ads per month.

  • Any vendor flagged for suspicious or fraudulent activity.

2. Required Documents

To complete the police verification process, vendors must provide the following:

A. Personal Vendors (Individuals)

  • Valid photo ID (NRIC/FIN/Passport)

  • Proof of address (utility bill, phone bill, or bank statement – dated within last 3 months)

  • Recent passport-sized photo

  • Completed and signed Police Verification Consent Form

B. Business Vendors (Companies)

  • ACRA Business Registration Document

  • Company Director’s photo ID

  • Business address proof

  • Recent passport-sized photo of authorized representative

  • Signed Police Verification Consent Form

3. Process of Verification

  1. Vendor submits the required documents via secure upload.

  2. Our team reviews the documents and forwards the application to the Singapore Police Force or authorized agency.

  3. Verification may take 1–3 working days.

  4. Upon clearance, the vendor will receive a Verified Badge on their profile.

4. Privacy and Data Security

  • All documents are handled with strict confidentiality.

  • Data is encrypted and stored securely in compliance with PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act).

  • No information is shared without consent except with law enforcement authorities for legal purposes.

5. Non-Compliance

Vendors who fail to comply with this policy may face:

  • Account suspension or termination

  • Removal of all active ads

  • Permanent ban from SGBuySell.com
